President Julia Landrum’s Message for 2023-2024

KNOW-GROW-SHOW

The stated objectives of the Carroll Garden Club specify that we as members are: to help stimulate the love of gardening, aid in conservation, develop aesthetic abilities and foster civic improvement. With those goals in mind, let’s KNOW–GROW–SHOW what we can accomplish together this year.

Our garden club has been a place whee we have gained considerable knowledge in gardening skills. Knowledge is defined as “facts, information and skills acquired by a person through experience or education about the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject.” We have come to KNOW a great deal as a result of wonderful program speakers and our members exchanging tips that help us have beautiful and more productive gardens or make gardening easier and more enjoyable.

Because of what we KNOW, we can GROW better plants or try new ones and out our acquired knowledge into practice. Growing also involves doing all that we can to make our environment healthier and more beautiful.

Often, we GROW great vegetables, flower, shrubs and trees for out enjoyment but are too humble in sharing our successes with one another. I would like for us to be more intentional to SHOW our results. Let’s encourage one another this year as we SHOW either photos or the actual plants and flowers that are the fruits of our efforts. Let’s also find ways to show our results in the Carroll County community to be the inspiration for more gardens and to encourage others to KNOW-GROW–SHOW along with us.

KNOW–GROW–SHOW is a simple strategy that will allow us to advance the stated purpose of the Carroll Garden Club in 2023-2024
