Last meeting of 2023: December

Carroll Garden Club held its traditional Holiday Greens Workshop.  Members bring their own forms, containers and pre-conditioned greens*. Those who have a plethora of evergreen or shrub-worthy offerings cut extras to share with those who are lacking such plantings. It’s fun to sort through the pile of this and that to add a little something special to the design.

These workshops are a way members learn from each other how to make swags, wreaths and Christmas-y table arrangements by watching neighbors or having a mini-lesson this day.

*preconditioned greens means soaking cut evergreens in water for several hours or overnight prior to use to keep them fresher longer.

Hostesses were John and Marian, Judy and Julia.

The club was also giving a  Christmas Greens program at Westminster library on Dec 7th.

Gals at work. Note the toolboxes for the ol’ hands.
