District V, under leadership of Director Jennifer Evans, held its semi-annual meeting at Holly Hills Country Club in Ijamsville. Also in attendance was FGCMD President DIana Bonner and other serving executives such as Susie Middleton. All but one of the District V clubs were represented– a good turnout.
As a fundraiser, clubs were asked to create “Spring” inexpensive table top arrangements and they came through nicely.
At the business meeting, awards were given out to various clubs for yearbooks and new projects of various club committees. The meeting concluded with speaker Ann Betten, a landscape designer who gave a great presentation discussing how to use plantings to achieve four seasons color. She identified specific cultivars and showed how she would place each within a home’s landscape area.
