We gathered at Union Bridge Community Center for our December meeting. Some years we have a green’s workshop where everyone comes with an idea to create a wreath, a swag or some decorative Christmas tabletop item. We’ve been to the Christmas extravaganza at Longwood (fantabulous!). Last year’s gift exchange game was popular, so there was a repeat of that activity for 2019.
Our hostesses had come up with really pretty Christmas-y arrangement of poinsettia-red with metallic tones using love-in-a-mist pods and alliums. Clever!
And, one of our hostesses had quite the collection of tiny decorated tinsel-y trees for the table tops and little paper baskets of candies.
Our gals had put together a scrumptious luncheon of tomato soup, pineapple casserole, salads and other yummies plus plates of Christmas themed cookies.
The meal concluded, the main fun was to be the gift exchange game which includes “stealing” from other participants, all done in good humour. All gifts were to be valued at no more than $15.
The most hotly pursued gifts were a huge amaryllis, a good sized fragrant rosemary herb “tree”. Photos arranged by size rather than order of gift exchange. Click for slide show.
