On Halloween, Carroll Garden Club members planted 1750 daffodil bulbs of the variety “Dutch Master” along Rt. 140 close to Baugher Road on the side approaching Westminster. The area of planting had evidence of many coneflowers in the unmowed area behind the bulb planting, so it will look attractive in both summer and spring now! It was a sunny day on the warm side and planting went fairly quickly once we assumed a rhythm with some placing the bulb and others following behind with compost and a foot stomp. Thanks to new members Brenda, Terry and Wilma for assisting this year. And, appreciation to Nancy, Diane, Marjorie, Jan, Sue and of course Julia for coordinating everything and bringing Halloween snacks.
