Carroll County’s Board of Commissioners has over the years developed a “Master Plan”, updated every other year, in which four of the fourteen goals pertain to Environmental Stewardship.
The 4 Goals of Conservation in Carroll County
(paraphrased)
1. Environmental concerns go hand in hand with economic concerns and the continued preservation of Carroll’s rural character
2. Land use/planning/development practices will be considered with an eye to citizen well-being–in tandem with individual rights and economic viability.
3. Plan for safe and adequate amounts of drinking water while making an effort to protect and restore the Chesapeake Bay.
4. Protect Carroll’s natural resources for future generations.
