Special Opportunity
The exceptionally warm weather (last) week (reaching at least 70 °F by mid-week) (was) perfect for applying dormant rate (2 – 3% ) horticultural oil to kill scale insects and overwintering aphid eggs and mite eggs on woody plants. Overwintering insect and egg respiration will rise with the warm temperatures making oil applications very effective.
