August 2014 Garden Tour at Audrey Whalen’s

Audrey had sent me a paragraph description of her garden as “a little of this and that”.  Well, it failed to do justice to her artful arrangements of color and materials. Whether statuary sprinkled about the property surrounded by plantings, meadow effects of butterfly magnet flowers to look up towards from the patio or down from the upper walkway, it was all a delight to the eyes. Walking around the side of the house was like entering a shady retreat, the slope planted densely with green foliage and lush shrubs looking well cared for.  Did I mention the hostess spread?! My goodness, Wilma and Audrey outdid themselves with two tables loaded with colorful selections of nibbles and tiers of sweets!  The table settings were lovely with Rudbeckia and airy Queen Annes’ Lace as arrangements. And, once again, we were blessed with perfect weather for a garden tour in August. Thanks for inviting us!

Here is a gallery of photos taken at Audrey’s that evening. (Click to enlarge and to proceed from photo to photo.)
